  Speech Recognition

Now it is easy to integrate speech recognition with Orator call-in dictation.  Using Bytescribe Export Utility, DocShuttle and Dragon NaturallySpeaking, you can easily integrate back-end speech recognition into your dictation and transcription workflow.  Below is a diagram showing the basic configuration.

Download a sample voice file and text document created using Orator dictation and Dragon speech recognition:  Click here.

The Orator Dictation Server records dictation from callers using telephones.  Voice files are sent to a converting computer running Dragon NaturallySpeaking Version 9 and converted to text files.  DocShuttle Internet Transcription software then uploads the voice and text files to an FTP server.  They are then accessible to transcriptionists using DocShuttle transcription software.  Below is a screen shot showing the Speech Recognition settings in the Bytescribe Export Utility.

The Bytescribe Export Utility will send voice files to Dragon NaturallySpeaking so that they will be converted to text files.  Below is a screenshot showing the basic configuration of the Dragon NaturallySpeaking AutoTranscribe Folder Agent.

Once voice files are converted to text files, the voice and text files are automatically uploaded to an FTP server by DocShuttle Administrator software.  They are then accessible to transcriptionists using DocShuttle transcription software.

As files are downloaded into DocShuttle Transcriptionist, the text files created by Dragon NaturallySpeaking appear in the attachments window for each voice.  A screen shot as shown below.

The transcriptionist can then copy the text into a new Microsoft Word document by clicking the Create New Document button.

Speak to Bytescribe representative about how you can integrate speech recognition into your current dictation and transcription workflow.
