During installation, WordConnect should automatically be the default program. However, if it is not, here are some steps you can go through:
Click on the Windows Start button and type in WordConnect, the select "Run as Administrator".
In WordConnect, select "Tools | Set as Default" from the menu.
If that doesn't work, go to your "Downloads" folder. Look for a file that has a .wcon extension. Open this file in Windows Explorer.
Right-click on it and select "Open with | Choose another app".
Make sure "WordConnect" is selected and also "Always use this app to open .wcon files".
That should resolve the issue. Then try again. Also remember to close out all instances of Microsoft Word and WordConnect before trying the "Open in Word" menu option from WebShuttle.
