When an Olympus Recorder is connected to a PC, either the (1) Olympus software will import the files (and remove them) or the (2) DocShuttle software will import the files. Here are the options:

Option 1: Uninstall Olympus software or disable Olympus from importing files when a device is connected. This is recommended. This way files get imported only into DocShuttle. DocShuttle does have an option to "Archive files instead of deleting" so that a copy of all files can kept on the local computer.

In DocShuttle Dictator, go to the Tools menu and select Settings. Then, click on the Advanced tab. At the bottom of the Advanced tab window, under Archive Files, there is an option to check the box next to "Archive files instead of deleting". This will place the older dictations in the Archive folder specified. The default archive folder location is C:\Archive but can be changed as needed. See image below.

Option 2: Allow Olympus to import the files first. Then set the Import folder in DocShuttle to pull files from the Olympus data folder. You would need to check the Olympus software to find the location of the data folder. Turn on the DocShuttle setting to "Rename source files after import". This will add an underscore to the beginning of the files to make sure they are only imported once.

In DocShuttle Dictator, go to the Tools menu and select Settings. Then, click on the Import tab. See below.

Again, Option 1 would be the recommended and more simplistic solution. Please discuss this option with your dictator for consideration.
